Upshur farm engine ,
1 Cylinder, 4 cycle, Hit and Miss,
1.125 bore X 1.50 stroke
This was my first model engine completed on March 2001, the
plans are from Harold Depenbusch. It is a horizontal single cylinder hit &
miss IC engine. 1.125 Bore and 1.500 stroke. Most all parts are from bar
stock. The frame is welded cylinder is brazed and water jacket is soft
soldered. The heat caused some distortion, so all critical dimensions were
held during final machining. For fuel metering I used a Fox 15 needle valve.
Ignition from 12-v coil, condenser located inside of wood base. A dual lobed
cam drives both the points and exhaust valve.
