This is a horizontal Hit and Miss single cylinder engine. It has a bore of 1 1/8 '' and a stroke of 1 1/2'' . This IC-engine was built last year and ran first in August 2005.
To get a constant Gasoline supply the fuel runs from the tank which is a airtight construction into a little container below the tank and from there through a small round filter into the carburetor. So the level of the fuel is always the same. It doesn't matter if the main tank is full or nearly empty. The engine gets always the same amount of fuel.
The cam and the shaft of the big timing gear is made from hardened carbon steel to make the engine more durable. The valves are made from stainless steel and the seats consist of cast iron. This combination of materials works together very well .
I soldered the crankshaft together from single parts. To start the engine very easy I attached to the model engine fuel regular Gasoline . ( 20 percent syntetic oil, 5 percent nitro methane, 20 percent unleaded regular Gasoline and the rest is methanol )
